Book Club Chat via Skype!

Book Club Chat via Skype!

Book clubs = fun. At least I think so. 😉 So I’m being a bit experimental with my Facebook Live program and seeing how it goes to run an online book club discussion there as a video! Now, there’s a bit of lag between writing of comments and appearance of comments in my feed, so I’m thinking the best way to have a good conversation is to have a few people actual TALKING about the book. How? Skype! Through the magic of all that technology stuff, we’ll be having a panel of talkers right there in the video feed with me.

We’ll be going through the discussion questions in the back of the book…and following any rabbit trails we might get distracted by. 😉 Interested in joining me via Skype? If you’ve read Giver of Wonders (or can do so in the next week) and want to be part of the fun, let me know!

Requirements:
1. You’ve read the book
2. You have Skype
3. You’ll be available between 6-8 p.m. next Monday, 4 December

If that’s you, then let me know! You can either comment here (with contact info please) or shoot me an email at roseannamwhite@gmail.com and I’ll be in touch. (If by chance I get more volunteers than we can handle, I’ll choose by a combination of who contacted me first and what will build a well-rounded group.)

If this goes well, I’ll be doing it for ALL my book releases and others upon request! So you could have a chance to join me for other books even if you can’t on this one!

Even if you can’t join me through Skype, I hope you can join me for the discussion in the comment section of the video!

Thanksgiving Books and Blessings!

Thanksgiving Books and Blessings!

I intended to have a thoughtful post today, but with two deadlines within five days, let’s just say time for other things has gotten away from me, LOL. But I did want to pop on here long enough to invite you to come chat with me today at a Facebook party!

I’m part of the Thanksgiving Books and Blessings event, which can be found here on Facebook from 10-4 Central Time. My slot is 12-12:30 Eastern/11-11:30 Central.

There will be games, giveaways, and lots of fun ~ a way for us authors to thank you, the reader, for all your support and enthusiasm throughout the year. Hope you can make it!

Scavenger Hunt Begins Tomorrow!

Scavenger Hunt Begins Tomorrow!

Just a quick announcement to let you know that tomorrow at noon mountain time, another Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt will be coming! Mark your calendars!!!

News!

News!

I announced this Monday via Facebook Live, but in case you didn’t see it there, I’ll share here too! Lots of exciting news in my world. =)

I’ve signed two new contracts that will be keeping me quite busy. First of all, another series with Bethany House! This one is called The Codebreakers and is about England’s cryptanalysts of World War I, referred to as “Room 40.” For fans of my Culper Ring Series, this will have some similar elements to the spying and codes we all loved there, but combine it with the world of my English-set books. In fact, you’ll be getting a sneak peek into The Codebreakers’ world in A Song Unheard and An Hour Unspent! Needless to say, I’m super excited to get to work on this one! Room 40 achieved some amazing things during the war, and I can’t wait to incorporate them into my novels. =)

But that’s not all I’ll be writing! I also signed on with Guideposts to work on one of their continuity series. These are available to Guideposts subscribers only, but if you get the magazine, you’ve no doubt seen their offers for their books. I’ll be joining with 7 other authors on a series called The Secrets of Wayfarers Inn, set in modern-day Marietta, Ohio as three friends open a B&B in a historic inn and discover mysteries connected to its being a stop on the Underground Railroad. History loving me is really looking forward to combining secrets from the past with a tale set here-and-now. =)

And my Facebook Live Season Two will be beginning on Monday October 16! Big thanks to everyone who filled out the survey asking what you’d like to see in Season Two–based on your recommendations, we’ll be starting out with some deeper diving into history. The Culper Ring will kick us off, since everyone responded so well to it during my Book Chats.

Hope to see you on Facebook next Monday at 7 p.m. EST!

Faith from Fiction

Faith from Fiction

I’m happy to announce, if you haven’t seen it yet, that I’ve participated in a collection of devotionals that bring out the faith messages in our fiction. Each of the 10 bestselling authors in this little e-book have chosen two of their stories and begin their selection with a short quote from them, then expound on the faith message behind it, summing it up with the Scripture that inspired it.

Faith from Fiction is now available for $0.99, so go grab your copy and dive into reflection on the Word to be found in our stories–because we all know fiction is the best way to learn. 😉 All profits will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse!

The authors in the collection include:
Melanie Dickerson
Janice Hanna Thompson
Leah Atwood
Christy Barritt
Heather Blanton
Lynnette Bonner
L. N. Cronk
DiAne Gates
Jenn Faulk
Roseanna M. White (hey, I know her!)
You can find it at (I’ll post the other links as they go live):
Amazon | Barnes and Noble | iTunes
And if you think you recognize the hand of the cover design, you’re right. 😉 I volunteered my services for the cover and had fun creating it. We decided on autumn colors because, well, it’s autumn, LOL. Here’s a larger version…

We hope our inspiration blesses you!

Imprint Name Contest!

Imprint Name Contest!

I announced a while ago that WhiteFire Publishing is launching a line for the under 18 crowd. Well, we’re considering having an imprint name for these books–picture books, chapter books, middle grade, and young adult.

So the challenge, if you choose to accept it:

Come up with a name for the imprint!

Things to keep in mind:

  • It would be great if it appealed to some part of the WhiteFire name, but it’s not required
  • It should call to mind an image that we can use as a logo
  • If we can find one that would work for the entire line, that would be best; though if we end up deciding on a different one for the YA line, that’s okay too

FAQ:

Can I submit more than one?
Yes! Submit as many as you like!

When does the contest end?
It will run for 2 weeks, from 9/20/17 – 10/4/17

Who’s the contest open to?
Everyone! All ages and countries welcome, though physical prizes will only be mailed to the US or Canada. Digital prizes are available for all, though!

Will you definitely choose one of the submitted names for your imprint?
No, this contest is not guaranteed. The ultimate decision will be made by the WhiteFire staff.

What happens if the same name is submitted by multiple people and is the one chosen?
See the prize section below.

If you choose mine (or a name directly derived from my submission) what do I win?
Well, fabulous question. Let’s talk about that.

If a name you recommend (or a direct derivation) is chosen for the imprint, you’ll receive

$100 worth of WhiteFire Titles

You can choose which titles you’d like and the format; US or Canadian winners are eligible for either paperback or digital books, or any combination thereof. Non US or Canadian addresses are eligible for digital books.

If by some coincidence multiple people submit the same name and it’s the one chosen, then each winner will receive $75 worth in prizes.
