Patrons & Peers

My writing, art, and design work are more than just work for me—they are ministry. But of all the things I do, my primary ministry is my writing. And so, I feel the conviction to dedicate more of my time to it…and I want to invite YOU into this sacred calling of telling stories that glorify the Lord and shine His light into the world.

How? Well, I’m inviting you to join the Patrons & Peers. In this group, you have the opportunity to support me and my ministry and also to participate in it in whole new ways that I’ve never offered to anyone before. I will seek your input and opinions, share with vulnerability and openness, offer exclusive items and opportunities, and also learn about YOUR calling and how I can support you in it.

Ideally, this will allow me to produce more of what my readers are always asking for—those stories about the characters who don’t already have their own books, novellas, additions to series. So if you’ve been clamoring for more of something, this is your chance to weigh in and help me find the time to create it!

The stories I write often have members of the aristocracy, the Peerage of England…today let’s create our own Peerage of faith-filled fellowship and mutual support. Become either a Patron or a Peer and know that you’re a part of something bigger than any one of us…something meant to make an impact in the world.

For me, this step is about humility and sharing the calling and ministry, opening up…which is often so hard for an introvert like me to do. But I know the value of community. And I want to truly have it with you. I’ve been wondering how to take the connectivity I’ve found in the Tea Party Book Club and my live videos and multiply it, how to really edify each other. I’m excited to see if this is a way we can do it.

Too often in our society we have this idea that we need to rise or fall alone, do it all ourselves—but that isn’t the kind of Church that we’re supposed to build. We’re supposed to support each other, love each other, give to each other. So this is me being very vulnerable and saying, “this is how you can help me.” I need the freedom to focus more on my primary calling. And it’s also the chance for you to share with me and the other members of our community what YOUR calling is, and how we can support YOU.

I hope you’ll join me—share in my life and calling and ministry and let me share in yours. Because I truly believe that if we come together, supporting each other in word and in deed and in giving, then we’ll accomplish some amazing things for the Lord.

What You Give

Support—My family lives on the freelance, creative income that we generate through books, cover designs, typesetting, and sales through my store. By joining the Patrons & Peers group, you’ll be giving us the freedom to cut back on some of the “extra” work and focus more fully on our primary calling: creating stories and deepening my study of things of faith.

Community—It’s easy for me to feel like I’m living and creating in a bubble…and so important that I always remember I’m not. That each word is for a purpose…His purpose. Joining me in this group will keep you and the other readers always in the forefront of my mind, even more than you already are, and give me the chance to truly know you as more than a name.

Input—So much of the creative world is guesswork. Are readers going to like this idea? That one? This theme? Though there are many things outside my control or bound by confidentiality with my publishers, there’s also much I can seek your advice and opinions on, and I would treasure your input on those things.

What You Receive

Access—By becoming a Patron or a Peer, you’ll receive access to communications, surveys, prayer groups, videos, and other content that will be available nowhere else and never to the general public. Peer level supporters will also receive physical items like books, tote bags, and more throughout the year.

Community—Because true community isn’t one-sided! My weekly video reports will give you the opportunity to reply with a video message, too, sharing not only your thoughts on what I bring up, but also your own life, needs, calling, and questions.

Support—Whenever and wherever possible, I will support YOU, just as you support me. That means I’ll pray for you, of course, but also that I’ll do whatever I can physically to enable you to follow your calling. Maybe that means shopping in your store or reading your blog or listening to your musical recordings… Whatever it looks like, I’ll endeavor to be for you what you are for me, and hopefully the other members of P&P will do the same for each other.
