Congrats! And it’s our last week in the 30 Days of Giveaways! For these last four days, your bonus prize is something very near and dear to me, especially in conjunction with this series.
The Valley of Vision is a collection of Puritan prayers compiled by Arthur Bennett and made up of prayers from many great theologians. I stumbled across this when researching for Ring of Secrets. I wanted my heroine to pray some traditional prayers of the day that would demonstrate her heritage, especially when in opposition to the rabble-rousing British occupants of the City of New York. When I found these, I was moved to the depths of my soul.
I ended up quoting from this book in all three Culper Ring books. Winter in Ring of Secrets has a prayer book handwritten by her father which transcribes these same prayers (or at least the ones that had been written at the time, LOL). She has passed it down to Thad in Whispers from the Shadows. And in Circle of Spies, Thad finally finds someone to pass the original tome to as well.
The very first feedback I got on Ring of Secrets was about these prayers. I know they’ll touch you as they have me. =) And so, this week’s winner will get a leather-bound, gold-edged copy of Valley of Vision with their name (or their choice of name) engraved on the cover.

I use my Women of Faith NIV most often but I love KJV most. I have my late Dad's King James and I love to read that one.
Like you, Roseanna, I often used my pink Precious Moments Bible growing up. My parents gave it to me as a young girl. The cover is faded and wrinkled, but I still pull it out every now and then. Sometimes I just like the comfort of my old Friend (the first of many copies of God's Word I ever received). Now, though, I usually use my turquiose Quest Q&A Study Bible (NIV).

I have a New King James Study Bible with my name embossed on the cover. It was a gift from my parents.
I have a chronological study Bible that I really like. I would use it more often but it's ESV, so I often use my smaller black NKJV Bible I relieved from my grandmother.
I most often rely on a Pocket New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs – Holman Christian Standard Bible in brown and tan. It is easy for me to read in bed, and also to carry in my purse. Growing up Catholic, we were not encouraged to read the bible. It wasn't until I dated a guy and went to church with him, that a pastor gave me a KJV bible and I started studying it.

Hello Roseanne. The Bible I use most is a dark green. It is "The Living Bible" (Paraphrased)
It belonged to my late Husband who has been gone for 16 years now. It talks more like we do. I still read my King James Version sometimes tho, especially to compare that I agree with the other one. I have gone through quite a few Bibles in my 19 years! I started with a pink (kinda junky) KJV and then I got a nice navy KJV. After that I used a hand me down red KJV from my mom (she gave us kids each one that she had read and marked up), followed by a black NASB, a NKJV Inspirational Bible with notes on the sides from Max Lucado, and a black NET Bible. I now currently am using a slim burgandy NKJV Bible that I really like! And I still have all of my other ones!
You know, I think having comparative versions would be really cool. =)
I actually still read my Precious Moments a lot–I know where everything is in there! LOL. But I got a chronological study bible and have been doing the 1-year plan in it, so that's been my daily reader lately. We have a couple truly massive hardback ones too. =)
An NKJV study bible we inherited from my great uncle some ten years ago – maroon leather cover, copious notes. I think on occasion my dad regrets letting me run off with it, since he liked it a lot too.
Over the years, I have read several different Bibles. I have two Grandmother's Bibles that I have read (with handwritten notes in them) that will be given to my grandchildren one day. Right now, I am reading through the Our Daily Bread Bible. I really like it. Since I will have two new grandchildren soon, I guess next year I will be reading through two more Grandmother's Bibles. 🙂

I wish I could be more specific about it, but I had to pack up most of my books awhile ago, and my Bibles are amongst them! I do know it was a NIV, and it's my teen study bible. I found a Women's Study Bible I liked as well. I have seen comparative versions that I like as well. Book of prayers, mediations, proverbs, and poems are my favourite 'extra' books to pick up as they give you droplets of faith in shorter spurts that can holdfast to you whilst your on the go!
The Bible I read most often has both KJV and Amplified version in it. It has a gold and red cover and my name in gold lettering at the bottom. I love it.
Your comment about giving up your childhood Bible made me smile. A few years back, I finally had to give up reading my Scofield KJV that I received for my 16th birthday. I'm sure my reason was different–the print was too small for my aging eyes. The one I finally settled on is a John MacArthur NASB Large Print Study Bible. I have 2 of them. One to carry to church, which has a black leather cover and gold edges. It is quite thick, but not nearly as heavy and unwieldy as the hardback that I read and mark in at home. This one is a huge book, about 10"x7"x3". The cover is black and gold.

My Bible is a beautiful, black leather hand size KJV that I can slip in my purse or bag. I've had it for years and it is one of my most treasured possessions. The book of prayers sounds awesome!
My favorite reading bible is the comparative study bible I can pick which version is the easiest to read It has NIV, NASB, Amplified and King James versions

I enjoy a New Testament pocket reference Bible on my nightstand for last minute reading just before bed. 🙂 It is a King James version, and is orange actually! 🙂 I also still have my Precious Moments Bible, acquired round about the same time, dear cousin! 🙂 Very excited to read the Culper Ring series, and looking forward to seeking out this prayer book!
Currently, the Bible I sn reading is the chronological Bible in a year in niv. It's on my kindle. 🙂 And the book of prayers sounds absolutely lovely!
