1906

After a summer of successful pirate-treasure hunting, Lady Emily Scofield and her friends are forced to hide the unprecedented discoveries they’ve made, thanks to the betrayal of her own family. Horrified by her brother who stops at nothing to prove himself to their greedy father, Emily is forced to take a stand against her family—even when it means being cut off entirely.

Bram Sinclair, Earl of Telford, is fascinated with tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table—an interest he’s kept mostly hidden for the last decade. But when a diary is unearthed in the islands that could lead to a secret artifact, Bram is the only one able to piece the legends together.

As Bram and Emily seek out the whereabouts of the hidden artifact, they must dodge her eager family and a team of archeologists. In a race against time, they must decide what makes a hero worthy of legend—is it fighting valiantly to claim the treasure . . . or sacrificing everything in the name of selfless love?

Pirates. A hidden journal. Arthurian legends. A lost island kingdom. High stakes treasure hunting. A handsome lord that loves chocolate. All these ingredients and more go into making Worthy of Legend an epic conclusion to Roseanna M. White’s Secrets of the Isles series!

I’ve enjoyed each of these treasure hunting, island adventures, but this third book ended up being my favorite! I’ve always been fascinated by the story of King Arthur, so when Arthurian legends and possible buried artifacts came up at the beginning of the story… I was totally hooked! Regular pirate treasure was exciting enough in the previous two books, but something related to King Arthur? That takes the stakes of the hunt, and the excitement as a reader, to a new level!

Every step of the journey is fraught with conflict and danger for our large ensemble of characters, and it kept me wondering how the treasure hunt would play out in the end. Let me tell you, I wasn’t at all disappointed! THAT ENDING! Ah, I loved it so much.

As mentioned, the cast of characters populating the Scillies is quite extensive by the time you reach this third book in the series. If you don’t really like large casts of characters to keep up with, it could feel overwhelming. But for me, I love it. Roseanna does such a great job with her characters that somehow, they are all unique memorable in some way or another.

I’ve loved the couples that paired up in each book, but I think this set is my favorite! Emily–the rich girl who seems quiet and self-absorbed but actually totally isn’t–and Bram–the overprotective ogre who is actually as sweet as the chocolate he’s addicted to, and possesses the heart of a true knight of honor. They were so good together for so many reasons! The way Bram set out to take care of Emily and defend her, while still giving her room to see she can also take care of and defend herself–it made me sigh inside. As with the other books in the series, a “down-stairs” character also has a storyline of their own. This time, it was Emily’s maid, Thomasina Briggs. I loved her story just as much as Emily, to be honest! I won’t spoil who she ends up with, but it was perfect!

If you’re looking for a grand reading adventure, look no further than Worthy of Legend! Romance, humor, adventure, mystery, and action–it has it all! Bravo to Roseanna on another great book and another stellar series. I gotta say it’s sad say farewell to these characters and the world of the Isles of Scilly (which I never knew existed until these books!), but I also can’t wait to see what she does with her next series!

PS: I still maintain that this series would be perfect for a tv show! You have a gorgeous, unique setting, a cast of lovable characters, and three story arcs (one from each book) that can be a season on their own. A reader can dream, right? Maybe one day it will come true!

**I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

A thrilling adventure filled conclusion to a fantastic series, as they draw closer to Mucknell’s treasure the clues point to an unimaginable bounty Worthy of Legend.

Thoroughly satisfying, I loved getting to know some of the quieter members of the crew. Emily and Bram completely won me over, and I loved them even more together! Curmudgeonly and enigmatic, Bram hides his inner shining knight, I liked that he was perceptive enough to see where he was needed and found a way to help. Tommie was such a hidden gem, and I loved seeing her come out of her shell as well as her selfless friendship with Emily.

A gripping read, filled with adventure strong themes of faith, and captivating characters. I loved how Emily’s friends supported her, and the fantastic dialogue between Sheridan and Bram. I didn’t want to put this book down. A wonderfully satisfyingly adventurous and romantic series, each book better than the last, you won’t want to miss it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Pirates, the legend of King Arthur, and hidden treasure! A young woman who’s never felt loved or appreciated and the brave hero who’s determined to prove that she’s worthy of both! Swoon-worthy chemistry that had me rooting for a ‘happily ever after.’ All of this can be found in Worthy of Legend and it’s a fantastic conclusion to The Secrets of the Isles series. Author Roseanna M. White absolutely surpassed my expectations in this story that offers adventure, history, inspiration, and romance. She also shares a reunion with the two couples from the first two books but, best of all, she introduces super-couple Bram and Emily! Bram, who’s embarrassed about his love and fascination with the King Arthur legend, and sweet and forgiving Emily. She may be unworthy in her father and brother’s eyes, but she truly displays the meaning of mercy and sacrificial love.

If you love Downton Abbey, you will adore this story. If you can’t get enough of wholesome, clean romance that sets your pulse racing, you’ll want to read this book! And, if you appreciate motivation and inspiration, you need to grab a copy of Worthy of Legend. It is historical Christian fiction at its best!!

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.

his is the last book in The Secrets of the Isles Series. I would recommend reading the previous books in this series before reading this one.
I’m sad to leave these characters behind, but loved the truths shared through their stories.

Worthy of Legend takes place on the Isles of Scilly, a cluster of islands near Cornwall. There is treasure hunting, suspense, romance, and legends of kings and knights.

I enjoyed getting to know Emily and her lady’s maid, Thomasina better, but really was saddened by the treatment of both women. I’m glad that they ended up getting some resolution.
I liked Bram. He and I have lots in common. We both wake up at night, like dogs, love chocolate, and want to punch Nigel in the nose! But Sheridan is still my favorite in this series.

All in all , I would say it’s a very bittersweet ending to a beautiful series.

I loved this final installment in the Secrets of the Isles trilogy by Rosanna M White. I was so glad to get to read Bram and Emily’s story. Both of them have been important secondary characters in the first two novels and now it’s their time to shine. Emily is truly an inspiring character; even though she’s cut off from her family at the beginning of the story, and this causes her great anxiety, she does not give up on her convictions and standing for truth. Even though that means going against her father and brother who are only out for selfish gain. I’m not so sure that I would have the same strength of character as her. Bram is also an inspiring character – he may even be one of my top favorite romantic heroes now! Although he would have to share his chocolate with me, haha. His love of the legends of King Arthur have a positive effect on him as he is very chivalrous and gentlemanly towards most, especially Emily. As they continue the treasure hunt, the stakes rise until they must decide what will honoring to God, and worthy of legend? Both Emily and Bram put it all on the line- and again I really don’t know if I would be up for such a challenge! I really adored these characters and how their lives intertwined, and challenged me as a Christian. I also enjoyed the search for the last of the treasure, and seeing the characters from the first two books. I’m sad that this is the end of the adventures! This has been such a fun series that I’ve truly enjoyed. This is a cast of characters I will not soon forget. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publishers. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A Great Journey To Go On

What a great story! This book kept me wondering how things would turn out from the beginning to the end. Hunting King Arthur’s treasures and learning of the legends was so fun. With all the twists and turns, the search took me on a journey I won’t soon forget. I can just imagine being there and finding all kinds of nooks and crannies on that land and that house.
I also loved Bram and Emily’s romance as well as getting to spend more time with the rest of the crew.
I loved the way Emily tried to find the good in her father and brother. She tried to have forgiveness and mercy towards them. She knew God loved them even though they were not honorable men and she wanted them to do right.
Well this book had it all, mystery, love and great characters. I think you would certainly enjoy this story if you like Historical Fiction.

Loved this fabulous conclusion to an amazing series! It’s a favorite series because of the unique setting, treasure seeking storyline, & heartfelt characters. I’m honestly sad to see it come to an end.

With plenty of action, adventure, romance, & inspiration, the heroes perform one last mission to find a legendary treasure from King Arthur before Nigel Scofield & his father find it first.

I loved Bram & Emily! Their slow burn, swoon worthy romance grows from friendship & service. I love the way they bring out the best in each other.

Bram is truly a knight in shining armor. He’s a secret expert on the legends of King Arthur and uses his knowledge to help find the treasure. In the first two books, he comes off as a bit of a bear, but really has a tender, kind heart. His chivalry & love of chocolate drops endeared him to me.

Lady Emily Scofield is Nigel’s sister who’s been mistreated & bullied by him since childhood. Emily feels abandoned by her family & wants nothing more than to feel their love. Instead, she’s met with anger & manipulation. Through it all, she maintains her sweetness & forgiving attitude.

There’s also a secondary romance between Tommie & Enyon. Tommie doubts her worthiness for love. Enyon is so patient, non-judgmental, & willing to look beyond what others see. He gives Tommie the time & space to realize his unconditional love.

It’s a little slower paced, but builds to a climactic, page-turning conclusion. I loved the inspirational messages & seeing favorite characters again.

A great conclusion to a much loved series. It could be read as a standalone, but is much better if you’ve read the previous books. Thanks to the author & publisher for the arc. All opinions are my own & freely given.

“Live the legacy, my friend. Walk worthy of His calling. Go forth boldly – and live.”

Roseanna M White’s historical fiction just gets better and better with each series. I loved every book I have read written by the author; I am amazed, each and every time I read a new release, at how fresh, delightful, and captivating her books are.
This series that infuses pirate lore with treasure hunting gets a fun plot twist with the introduction of King Arthur’s legends and associated relics. I don’t know much about King Arthur and his knights but it was such a great adventure to learn about those tales as Bram, Emily, and the rest of the crew pieced together the puzzle to capture what they deem the ‘greatest treasure of all time’ for an Englishman. Yet the greatest treasure they find is not necessarily that object itself but finding and choosing mercy that comes from selfless love. Bram and Emily’s faith struggles are real, as they learn to trust, forgive, and always choose mercy.

I loved Bram’s rambling third person narrative; it made me feel like I was right there beside him to experience his kindness, thoughtfulness, tenderness, scholarly wonderings, and reconciliation of justice and mercy. Emily was a lovely woman with a heart of gold and I really enjoyed the subplot of her maid Thomasina finding her own peace and helping others like herself. Bram and Emily’s banter is absolutely delicious and their romance is sweet and enchanting. Oliver and Libby, Sheridan and Beth, Casek and Mabena all get their happily-ever-afters here as well, which should completely satisfy fans of the series.

This beautifully crafted tale of “a kind-hearted lady and a noble-hearted lord” will indeed sweep you off your feet to early 1900s Isles of Scilly to enthrall you. I received the book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Wow! What a great book 3 for this series. I have enjoyed these characters immensely and was thrilled to join them once again as they hunt for treasure. I liked how this group of relatives and friends has become a true family. I was drawn in by this humor, the romance and the beautiful islands setting. But I especially appreciated the lessons about forgiveness under difficult circumstances and the extending of mercy when it might be the last thing a person wants to do. These faith lessons were very encouraging. I really hate to say goodbye to these characters but I won’t forget their adventures. Personally, I thought that there was a perfect balance in this book of including past characters and allowing the two main characters to have their story told. Of course, you don’t have to read the previous books first to thoroughly enjoy this one. I was given a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I received an early copy for the purpose of reviewing. What follows are my own thoughts:

I loved the themes of mercy, justice, and worthiness in this story. Emily has grown up in a family where she was ignored on a good day, and verbally abused on a bad day. As a result she struggles to see herself as worthy of anyone’s love or friendship. Bram aspires to have a noble character worthy of the King Arthur legends he loves. Despite his gruff exterior he is a gentle soul who builds up the downtrodden, yet he struggles with the idea of justice and mercy coinciding.

I appreciated the way Bram wrestled with the concepts of mercy and justice. I used to recoil at the word “justice” because to me it sounded more like revenge and grace and mercy weren’t a part of it. I liked the way biblical justice was shown, both as the natural consequence of choosing to hold onto evil and as restorative when righteous people seek to lift up those who have been hurt by others.

Much as I love Bram and Emily, I have to say my favorite character was Thomasina. Often times, a character who has been through what she has is portrayed as weak and broken. I appreciated the balance here where she’s still sorting through the lies and hurts, but choosing not to be crippled by it and using that pain to help others.

Other fun stuff: Bram’s closet nerdiness, more Sheridan (and his sisters! Love them!), and of course, the whole theme of legends and being worthy of legend.

Beautifully written, wonderful characters, love, love love! Thank you again, Roseanna White for writing such a wonderful story!

Worthy of Legend is the final installment in historical fiction writer Roseanna M. White’s three-book “Secrets of the Isles” series. I thoroughly enjoyed The Nature of a Lady and To Treasure an Heiress also, but as much as I loved them, I would choose this one as my favorite!
Set in 1906 in the Isles of Scilly, Worthy of Legend focuses on Emily, who has been through so much yet resolutely strives to show God’s love and mercy to others despite how she was treated by those around her. She is a wonderful role model, as is Bram, who always puts others first and is extremely protective of Emily.
White, a master of descriptive writing, has once again created a very believable storyline in a setting that meshes well with historical facts from the period. Like Emily and Bram, the characters are all well-developed, and I truly cared what happened to them.
This beautifully written Christian fiction book has all the elements I enjoy: a well-researched historical backdrop, an intriguing plot, and the perfect blend of mystery and romance that makes for a great read. Like all the books in this series, Worthy of Legend could easily stand alone, but I recommend reading the three books in order to enjoy them to their fullest.

This is the third and last book in “The Secrets of the Isles” series. This historical fiction novel has so many things that it will appeal to a wide variety of people. It has your romance and a mystery in the form of a treasure hunt. There are also some complicated relationships involving the main female character, Emily Scofield. I find myself wanting to jump in the book and help her out with both her brother and father. I would also really love to tell her mother to stop ignoring her own daughter. The treasure hunt is an intriguing part of the story but it is the human element to all the characters that really will grab your attention. Overall I would say that this book is extremely well written and is definitely worth reading.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher.
