About . . . Roseanna the Editor

your paper, my pen

I've been a freelance editor since I graduated from college in 2004.  My first client was a lawyer/novelist who has self-published several of his books and is doing very well through that venture.  I have since added a handful of scholars, journalists, and other novelists to my client list, all of whom have paid me the greatest compliment: they come back.

I've edited everything from grant proposals to novels, biographies to theses, short stories to travel essays.  You name it, I've probably helped with it.

I'm different from other editors, though, in that I'm not nearly as expensive.  I started my pricing out cheap because I was new to the game, and I refuse to increase it dramatically because. . . well. . . I couldn't afford standard editing fees of $65/hr, so how can I expect other starving-writers to?  I set my rate at $2/pg (manuscript page--double spaced, single sided, 12 pt font) with a $20 minimum.

I have a page set up at WhiteFire with more info about me and my editing.  Feel free to check it out at www.whitefireprinting.com/editing.htm or send me an email query at editing@whitefireprinting.com with the subject line "Editing Question."  (I get tons of span, so that let's me see it's real.)

I've also started a page on ShoutLife for my editing, where I give free tips to anyone interested.  Check it out at www.shoutlife.com/editing.
