How long did it take you to write the book, from the first spark of an idea to delivering the manuscript to a publisher?

The rough draft flew out of my head and onto my computer... Five weeks from the first word to the last, of an almost 100,000 word document. It was one year later that I submitted to several houses for consideration, and part of that time was spent hunting an agent and sending it out to a couple of houses on my own, prior to signing with Hartline Agency.

In the Midst of Deceit

What if you suddenly lost everything important to you? Like a modern-day Job, that’s what happens to Slade Mitchell. While skydiving with coworkers, Slade’s parachute malfunctions and he plummets to the earth at breakneck speed. He survives the fall, but is left permanently disabled, with no friends, no business, no girlfriend. Slade plunges into a deep state of depression. His Christian neighbor, Stasi Courtland, to whom he is reluctantly attracted, provides a wellspring of strength and hope. They soon discover the malfunction was not an accident, and must find out who wants Slade dead before it’s too late.
